One of the most common types of starfish fossils found in Morocco is the ophiuroids or brittle stars. These fossils are usually flattened and show intricate details of the arms and the central disc of the animal. Brittle stars were common in the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras and are still present today in modern oceans.
