Roman iron spear head

The typical Roman spearhead had a leaf-shaped blade with a pointed tip and two cutting edges. The base of the blade was slightly wider than the tip and featured a socket or tang that was used to attach the spearhead to the wooden shaft. Roman spearheads varied in size and shape, depending on their intended use. Some spearheads were shorter and lighter, designed for throwing, while others were longer and heavier, intended for use in hand-to-hand combat.
